Prior to finding out about Tru Health & Wellness I had terrible nutrition and exercise habits. I was out of shape, never had enough energy, and was eating out for almost every meal. I came to TRU Health & Wellness in August looking for a good trainer. I have worked out with what I thought were very high level trainers having been an elite level athlete. After meeting with a few other trainers, one session at TRU was all I needed to know that I was in good hands. I did the metabolic test and found out that my eating habits were off from my "normal" digestion patterns. I also found out that my body mechanics were not as good as I thought. I was pretty off-balance in my structure and had been performing many exercises improperly.
After working out at TRU Health & Wellness for 4 months, I am in much better condition. We started by using movement to put my body back in proper balance and structural alignment. Once I was performing movements properly, we kicked up my workouts to be more intense. Based on the results I was getting and my muscle building goals we altered some areas of my workout. They knew exactly what to change to get the results I wanted. The last few weeks I was performing very complex movements and experiencing amazing workouts like I never had before. I am now much stronger and achieving more results from each of my workouts. I've had 3 knee surgeries in the past and no longer experience pain from my workouts. I used to favor my "bad" knee in fear I would injure it again. I never once questioned the movements I did that challenged my knee. I am now in GREAT shape and condition. I love working out at TRU Health & Wellness.

I was "stuck"...and that is what led me to Tru Health and Wellness. After years of working out and "eating healthy" I felt my body had stopped progressing to a level of health and fitness I desired. Not only was that frustration affecting me physically, but emotionally and mentally as well. I was frustrated with the lack of progress I was seeing in myself and wanted to change.
Not one easily influenced with "the latest fitness craze," I first read about TRU and their metabolic nutrition in San Diego magazine. Their belief of working on health from within aligned with my need to know what nutrition program worked best for my body.
After completing the metabolic analysis and eating what is right for my body, I not only feel better but am also seeing the fitness results I wanted. It is difficult to adequately describe the value of training with Tru Health and Wellness. They have created a perfect environment in which I receive one-on-one training with little to no distractions. Unlike the larger gyms such as 24 hour fitness, Tru Health and Wellness is a private training facility. This means I never wait for a machine or have to adapt my workout based on what equipment is available. The private nature of the training also makes me more relaxed and comfortable which to me translates into better work outs. Combine this with the fact that all the trainers and staff are incredibly friendly and enjoyable to be around and I have the perfect training experience.
Now, an environment is great and all, but this would mean nothing if I did not learn to work out properly, get a good work out when training, and in general learn how to be more healthy. This is definitely not a problem at Tru Health and Wellness. All the trainers have deep domain knowledge in not only training but also in nutrition and other aspects of health. My training has always been adapted to what works best for me to obtain the results I am looking for. I truly feel that a lot of thought and effort go into making sure that I not only get the most out of my time training at Tru Health and Wellness but also when I train on my own. All in all I could not recommend Tru Health and Wellness more and I know that anyone who wants to improve their health and fitness cannot go wrong with this group!

Who doesn't want to feel good and have more energy each day? I did, but despite my self-directed attempts, I could never reach that goal. So when I heard about metabolic typing, I was interested and my search for a metabolic nutrition practitioner led me to Tru Health and Wellness. With the guidance of Tru's personal trainers, I embarked on nutritional changes and a training program to address my structural/muscular imbalances.
After five months, my weight/body fat dropped easily; my food cravings faded away; I have more energy than ever, despite long work weeks; and the aches and pains that I assumed were unavoidable have completely disappeared. And, if that was not enough, Tru tailored my functional training to address a chronic sciatic nerve condition that had developed over time. Despite what seemed to be endless days of chronic pain, Tru's trainers expertly guided my training to address the underlying cause of the pain and I'm ecstatic to report that I'm pain free. Tru's holistic approach to health, nutrition, and training is priceless, and designed to produce results. After five months of terrific results, I can't wait to see the changes that I will experience over the next year!
